Sedentary behaviour and physical activity in Youth
Individual level - SEM model
61.3% of participants are not physically active at lunch, and although this may not be always a choice, due to uniform, weather or school commitments, a large proportion of the time would be voluntary; showing a preference of being sedentary over being physically active
Participants showed a preference of being sedentary over being physically active through the most common time spent on social media is 3.5+ hours compared to being physically active for under 30 min, demonstrating that they may not enjoy physical activity
25.8% of participants don't play a sport outside of school, followed by 51.6% only playing one sport, leaving only 22.6% to play more than one sport, showing lack of interest or enjoyment
Physical environmental level - SEM model
Craftercise provides a facility for children to be physically active in a safe of environment and engage in a range of activities which incorporate a wide variety of activities
Craftercise has children participate in a range of activities using soft play, recycled equipment, climbing equipment, musical instruments, sensory and play equipment, to help aid children develop fine and gross motor skills
Craftercise has a range of surfaces, to engage the children in a sensory adventure via different sensations, textures, equipment, surfaces and materials.

Parents would supply most of the participants with their access to electronic devices, and with the most common answers showing that participants have the access to 6 or 7+ electronic devices, the parents of youth must be supporting the overuse
77.4% of participants are driven/take public transport to school, meaning that their parents are not making them undertake physical activity via active transport
At craftercise, parents are encouraged to engage in physical activities with their kids to act as a role model
Craftercise includes sibling/intergenerational influence via encouraging parents to bring different family members, especially from different generations, and friends, such as work colleagues, along during their time at the program

Craftercise requires parents to supervise their children, and also encourage and support their kids throughout the activities. Craftercise also encourages parents to arrive early to allow children to engage in the play area before class and can also use the reception area to socialise with other children or parents after class.

With many participants being on social media more than they are physically active (most common time spent on social media is 3.5+ hours compared to being physically active for under 30 min), these participants may not think they have the physical ability to complete physical activity.
Encouragement from parents and teachers is likely to improve the childs self efficacy and belief in their abilities.
"Is it worth it?"
25.8% of participants don't play a sport outside of school, followed by 51.6% only playing one sport, leaving only 22.6% to play more than one sport.
By Craftercise having parents encourage their children with the activities and also undertake some of them it is likely to make the children believe that the activities are worth while.
Enabling factors - YPAP factors
Biological
Low fitness levels, discourage people from undertaking a new sport, and with 38.7% of participants being physically active for under 30 minutes every day, it is highly possible that they will be unfit
Due to the preference of participants to be on electronic media compared to being physically active, they may not have developed the skills necessary to participate in certain sports; lowering their confidence when playing alongside experienced players
The use of weekly themes allows Craftercise to integrate specific fundamental skills via a large variety of activities that involve equipment and recycled materials.
At Craftercise, the qualified teachers and safe environment provides a non-discriminatory space for children to improve their skills and fitness, without any worries arising.
Environmental
Organisations such as Craftercise, provide opportunities for youth to be physically active in a safe environment, however if people are not aware of these facilities, then they may not bephysially active to the extent in which they are able to be

At Craftercise there is parking available and there is also a tram stop within walking distance.
At Craftercise, "safety is a priority"
outlining the rules within the terms and conditions, as well as proving safety posters around the facility. The safety of all participants is ensured by having high quality soft play and flooring, as well as the staff who take all the session are all experienced and qualified teachers who are trained to ensure all activities are delivered in a manner that is appropriate and safe for each child
