The nervous system
-
The CNS
-
-
The message is then sent as nervous (electrical) impulses sent along the sensory neurones to the CNS
-
-
-
-
Reflexs
Reflexes are automatic and doesn't involve the brain, which makes it a lot faster, reflexes are usually used to prevent injury of yourself and others
The eye
-
Focusing
To look at distant objects the ciliary muscles relax this makes the lens a less rounded shape so the light is refracted less
To look at close objects the ciliary muscle contracts which makes the lens rounded to refract more light
Long and short sighted
Long-sighted is when they are unable to focus on near objects because the eyeball is too short so it doesn't focus until behind the retina, can be fixed with convex lenses
Short-sighted is when they are unable to focus on far objects because the eyeball is too long and it focuses before the retina, can be fixed with a concave lens
colour blindness
color blind people cant tell the difference between certain colors the most common is red and green. its caused when the red and green cones in the retina don't work properly. it cannot be cured

Homeostatis
-
Conditions in the body have to be kept the steady so the metabolic reactions can keep you alive we need to keep steady - glucose levels, water levels and body temperarure
-
controlling water levels
why does urine change?
The volume and concentration of urine depending on how much water is in the blood and can also vary on the temperature. sweating and dehydration will mean there is less water in the blood so there will be less urine and it will be darker
-
kidneys play a vital role in balancing water levels in the body. the kidneys also remove waste from the body .
