If you want to succeed, you must set goals. Without goals, you lack focus and address. Goal setting not only allows you to take control of your life's direction; that It also provides you with a benchmark to determine if you are really succeeding.
The Five Golden Rules
1.-Set Goals That Motivate You
When you set goals for yourself, it is important that they motivate you: this means making sure that they are important to you, and that there is value in achieving them.
2. Set SMART Goals
You have probably heard of SMART goals already.
°Spesific
°Measurable
°Attainable
°Relevant
°Time bound
3. Set Goals in Writing
The physical act of writing down a goal makes it real and tangible. You have no excuse for forgetting about it. As you write, use the word "will" instead of "would like to" or "might."
4. Make an Action Plan
This step is often missed in the process of goal setting. You get so focused on the
outcome that you forget to plan all of the steps that are needed along the way. By writing out the individual steps, and then crossing each one off as you complete it,you'll realize that you are making progress towards your ultimate goal.
5. Stick With It!
Increased Visibility:
Having clearly defined goals allows employees to align and relate what they are doing to company goals, which in turn creates synergy, motivation, and sense of purpose.
• Increased Responsibility:
When everyone in your company understands both the broad corporate objectives and specific team goals, it makes it very easy for them to make decisions, initiate tasks, and work with little supervision.
Achieving Things Faster
There is no argument when you have goals set in place with deadlines, things get done faster. Would you ever hand in your course assignments in school if there were no deadlines?
Better Collaboration
Having goals in place unites your team to work together to achieve a shared objective. If there is no clear objective in place, people are less likely to share collaborate, and help each other.

Vision Statement
Vision statements also define your organization's purpose, but they focus on its goals and aspirations.
Amazon (online retail) – "Our vision is to be earth's most customer-centric company where customers can find and discover anything they might want to buy online... at the lowest possible prices."
."
Usually, people write these statements for an organization, or for anorganizational unit or a team. You can also create statements to define thegoals of long-term projects or initiatives.
OKRs
Needed to Make OKRs Work
Focus: when you're using OKRs, you need to set clear priorities and focus on your organization's objectives.
Numbers-driven: as with any effective goal-setting tool, progress must be
measurable.
Transparency: the point of OKRs is get everyone pulling in the same direction to
meet your organization's overall mission and vision.
Culture: OKRs have to become part of your organization's culture, and be embedded
into your team's routine.
