He became the first black president in South Africa, and one year later he established the Truth and Reconciliation to protect the population from the apartheid and protected their human rights. He also introduces education, heath, housing, and economic development initiatives to improve the lives of the black population in South Africa. He was also present for the enactment of the new democratic constitution.
      - After his retirement from political placement, he left behind the thought of peace an equality worldwide. He maintained his international presence as an advocate of peace reconciliation, and social justice.

        Mandela's poems were used to inspire and promote the support of Nelson Mandela to the activist or other people in jail who agreed with him. The poems he wrote were used as speeches to motivate people to take action on the apartheid, but also expressed Mandela's feelings and experiences in jail. Through his poems, people believed that he was setting an example of perseverance, strength, bravery, and capacity of growth. Other people think that Mandela managed to get a spiritual connection with South Africa's population, with just his words and peaceful actions.       - Nelson Mandela was aware of what the consequences of his activism were going to be. He said so himself, "Freedom is not free", you have to fight for it, you have to take action and do something. He was not afraid of doing something if it leads to justice, plus someone had to be a leader. Through his words, poems, and speeches in prison he got the attention of the world.         Nelson Mandela motivated and moved people with his speeches. He knew how to get his audience's attention and support and apart from sports, because he knew a lot of people cared about them, he used his words to inspire others. He thought that "sports had the power to change the world", and maybe what he meant is that simple steps or ways can make a difference. I think his words were a bigger difference though. I think his words were a great way to tell that he knew how to deliver a message. once his history and stories got all over the world he moved and inspired many people emotionally and ethically do something, like the younger generations in America.
        
        Maybe one of the reasons why his speeches were so touching, was because they spoke the truth and gave solutions to problems, instead of just listing the issues. Another reason was that his speeches gave solutions and spoke about equality for many other things apart from racism, like gender orientation, class, religion, etc. He gave realistic solutions and was an example to his audience. His words were extraordinary because they were full of hope and lacked bitterness.

        People think of Nelson Mandela as an advocate of peace and as "the voice of calm". He enforced forgiveness and refused the bitterness affect him. He was a perseverant and optimist person who helped his country a lot by opening their eyes to take action. He knew ways to move his people thought calm actions and unite a country with "racial tensions". Nelson Mandela deeply believed that there should be equality among the different races and everyone and therefore, when he saw the opposite he did something about it, even in the simplest ways. One example, is in 1995 he assisted a football or rugby match. There he noticed that most of the spectators were white, and the black spectators were separated in another area. Mandela felt like he absolutely had to do something about that, because he wanted his team to play harmoniously as one united team. He worked with all of them and talked about what was going on with them.
