Immediate feedback provided upon submission of test
I referenced some of the work we did last term in SI4021 to get the creative juices flowing for this section
Alternative Architectures
Materials, lectures, and messages sent to students. Assignments and tests sent to professors. Grades sent to students.
This would be a slow method, even using email it would still be slow
Students could feel overwhelmed by a swarm of emails
Lectures are interactive, materials downloaded from site, assignments uploaded to site, tests can be taken directly on site, messages displayed on site and emailed, grades displayed on site.
This describes the current architecture
I think this is an effective method
This exercise opened my eyes to a few possibilities though
Grades could be shown right next to assignment or test submissions so you wouldn't have to have a Grades area at all
They may have done this though so that colleagues don't inadvertently see your grades when you are going to submit/checking on the status of assignments
Assignments could be done right in the website like tests are
A group chat window could reside on the home page to make communication easier
Materials downloaded to chips in students' brains, assignments and tests completed on Minority Report style touch pad, students 'beamed' to Monterey for live lectures & 'beamed' back, communication facilitated with instant messaging from google watches, notifications sent to google watches when grades are posted.
Expensive technology, some of which has not been invented yet, would be required for each student to utilize this method
Safety of implanted chips in brains could be questionable
I was a little biased creating this list because I feel the architecture as it is set up now is quite effective. Coming up with other ways to do it was a little difficult for me.
