ANIMAL REPRODUCTION

-
Male reproductive system
- Penis
• Release/Ejects sperms
- Testes
• Produce sperms (Male Reproductive Cell)
Process
From the male, the sperms in the testes are transferred through the penis into the vagina. The sperms find their way to meet the egg inside the female's body
A sperm cell has a tail to help it swim towards the egg. If a sperm meets and egg and they fuse, fertilisation occurs.
The fertilised egg starts to divide to form more and more cells. Those cells will eventually form the organs in the body of the developing baby.
The baby develops inside the mother's womb. After about 9 months, the baby is born.
Types of Fertilisation
-
Asexual Reproduction
Involves only one parent
Budding (Eg. Yeast, Hydra)
Binary fission
(Eg. Bacteria, Paramecium, Amoeba)
