as a result Roosevelt asked congress to declare war on Japan (December 8 1941) , USA allied with Great Britain and the Soviet Union

March 1941: support programme where the USA sent arms, food, medicine and other equipment to its allies, provided jobs
Economy
The War created new jobs that were accessible to all groups in society, farmers who has been in an economic crisis for 20 years could export food to allies
war production: war planes, tanks, trucks and warships meant lots of workers were needed
