iodine test for starch
Put a small sample of food in a spotting tile, Add a few drops of water into a second well as a control, Add teo drops of iodine to each well. Starch to blue black. if not present stays orange.
emulsion test for lipids
Add ethanol to food sample, shake, put in cold water. lipid present goes to cloudy when water and ethanol meet. lipids absent stays clear.

Biuret test for proten
Add a small amount of food sample into the test tube, add sodium hydroxide and shake, then add a few drops of copper sulphate solution and shake. protein present it goes purple If the protein is absent then it stays blue.
