Definition
Where you would train whilst working.
Disadvantages
Employees already working at the workplace would expect you to learn quickly and do what they do, even if they are more experienced.
Advantages
You can learn at your place of work
So you can familiarise yourself with rules, regulations and the environment.
This would make you more comfortable when you finish your training.
Induction Training
Disadvanatges
Very specific and focused.
This doesn't help in other jobs you may want to go to (e.g. Banker :arrow_right: Baker)
Advantages
It allows them to 'get a feel' for the business.
This means that they will feel more comfortable when becoming a full- /part-time worker.
Off the Job Training
Disadvantages
Lost working time and potential output from employer
This means that you are losing out on money that you need to earn to support yourself.
Advantages
There is no pressure from current employees.
This means that there is no worries that may make you think you aren't good enough to have the job.
Definitions
Off the Job Training
Where you train in a training facility as opposed to where you will eventually work.
Induction Training
A form of introduction for new starters in order to enable them to do their work in a new profession or job role within a business.
On the Job
Where you train with existing employees.
