What 6th grade STEM means to me
Social life
Making new friends
At the beginning of the year, I thought that I wouldn't know anybody, but I made 3 friends that are now my BFFs.
Outdoor Lab
When I was at Outdoor Lab, I didn't really know anyone in my cabin or group, but as the week went on, I felt like I had known them all my life.
Academic successes
Honor Roll
I made Honor Roll 1st and 2nd trimester and I think I will make it in 3rd trimester.
High Potential week
I was asked to go back to outdoor for High Potential. This is a large accomplishment because not many kids are chosen.
Deer Creek open house
After the fall showcase, my partner and I were invited to present our No More Oil PBL at the Deer Creek showcase for enrolling kids and families.
What I learned about myself
I am Visual learner
I found this out when in Social Studies we took a quiz about the type of learner you are. The quiz told me that I am a visual learner more than other type of learner.
Quiet room/By myself
Throughout the year, I found that when I am in a quiet room and without any other people to distract me, I do better.
Structured assignments
When I am given projects or assignments that are very structured, I do better than when they are more open ended. When things are not planed out, I get overwhelmed, stressed, stuck, and I get confused.
Favorite Projects
Tiny Home PBL
This PBL was one of my favorite PBL because it included parts from all of the class and it also was fun to hand make a building out of recycled materials
No More Oil PBL
I loved this PBL because I learned so many things that I didn't no about before like Biofuels and Hydraulic energy.
Black History Month Project
I liked the Black History Project so much because It was about things that are more serious than other PBLS.
