Plessy v Ferguson (1869)
was a landmark decision of the U.S Supreme Court issued in 1869. It upheld the constitutionality of racial segregation laws for public facilities as long as the segregated facilities were equal in quality.
Executive Order 9981 (July 26,1948)
was an executive order issued on July 26,1948,by president Harry Truman. It abolished racial discrimination in the U.S armed forces and eventually led to the end of segregation in the services .
