Designing a training programme
Definition of training program
Employee training is a program that is designed to increase the technical skills, knowledge, efficiency, and value creation to do any specific job in a much better way. Training program is periodical and given at regular intervals, it is never continuous. Training increases the needed skill set and helps in development of an employee as well as overall growth of the organization.
Long term training activity that is made up of a series of courses with a flexible cost and time budget.

Objectives are defined as a “ description of a performance you want learners to be able to exhibit before you consider them competent.”
Importance of objectives
Form the basis for selecting the program content and methods
Used by organisation to evaluate program’s success
Help participants to focus their attention and efforts during the programs
Tells organisation where the program is going and know whether you have reached desired target.
Critical aspect of objectives:
1) the performance the learners should be able to do, (2) the conditions under which they must do it, (3) the criteria (how well they must do it) used in the judging of success.
Who conduct and construct training program
they will have to work with the supervisor to ensure that the training objective meets the training needs of the employees. They might need to train the executives to prepare them to be a trainer.

Noise can be controlled (hang a sign: Keep the volume down, training in session)
Arranging the physical environment is the potential for physical distractions (noise, poor lighting, physical barriers)
Wall and floor coverings and colours (carpeted rooms are quieter),
types of chairs, presence of glares, windows(a view may distract participate), acoustics,
the presence of electrical outlets to run necessary equipment should also be checked.
Physical comfort level is also important for successful learning. Extreme room temperature can inhibit learning. (cannot be too hot/cold)
Seating arrangement is important because it
establish a spatial relationship between the trainer and the trainees.
