Rule 1 is that every image must have a profile. If an image has no profile, Photoshop has a number of ways to help the user find and assign one. Rule 2 is that all conversions need both a source and a destination profile. It was seen that many Photoshop dialogs, such as the Convert to Profile and Print, request two pro- files. Rule 3 seeks to minimize color conversions and to use simulations wherever possible. It was shown that many of Photoshop’s color conversions could be done for real, or in simulation mode without altering the original image, in particular, in this regard
