'Sexist' Language

Every day, woman around the world are objectified, treated as less equal of an equal, and denied the same opportunities than men.

Toys -Socialisation
Some toys are marketed as 'feminine' toys for girls and some are marketed as 'masculine' toys which are for boys which creates male and female stereotypes.
Some examples of 'male' toys are guns, castles, lego, dragons, trains etc. which provide a stereotype that boys and men should be playing with these sorts of things which consequently shapes how boys act.
Some examples of 'female' toys are dolls, hairdressers, iron boards and hoovering toys which give the impression that girls should be doing these things creating a sexist stereotypes in children.
Some firms are beginning to challenge these stereotypes by marketing guns to girls and other 'girly' things to boys
Socialisation is the things in which we associate with masculine and feminine. This shared understanding is part of our social knowledge which we use to interpret the world we live in. Children are bombarded by images on how the 'should' behave and should look like.

Colloquialisms. This is when two words 'belong' side by side such as 'fish and chips'. In gender there are many examples of these things such as 'Mr. and Mrs.' and 'Husband and Wife' and 'His and Her'. In all of these examples the man comes first which infers that men are more Superior than women.
