Territorial Morphology: The size, shape, and relative location of a state
Fragmented State: A state which is separated by a physical or human border. Ex. Indonesia, Philippines.
Elongated State: A state which is long and narrow. Ex. Chile, Norway

Enclave State: A state or part of a state which is completely surrounded by another state. Ex. Lesotho, Vatican City.
Prorupted State: A state that is very spread out or has a large extension. Ex. Loas, Thailand.
Exclave State: A part of a state that is completely separated from the mainland. Ex. Hawaii, Alaska
Compact State: The distance to the center from any point on its border is small.Ex. Poland, Zimbabwe.

Ocean
UNCLOS Treaty
Contiguous Zone: A band of water extending 24 miles from the coast of a country where the state can exert limited control to prevent or punish.
Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ): 0-200 miles off the shore of a country, over which the country has control over all economic resources.
Territorial Waters: The area within 12 miles of a countries shore. The Country has complete control over this area.
International Waters: Any area that is not within anybodies EEZ. Anybody can use these waters freely.
Median-Line Principle: If there is less than 200 miles between 2 or more countries then the sea is split up equally.

Innocent passage: The right to travel through a countries ocean boundaries without disrupting any operations.
