Causes
Incubation period, 1-5 days
Multiply in small intestines and release enterotoxin, choleragen acts on mucosal epithelial lining.
Caused by Vibrio Cholera, a bean-shape bacterium with a long tail
Violent inflamation of intestine, this toxin prevents the normal absorption of salt & water, resulting in vommiting & severe diarrhea
Vibrio cholera interacts with a crustacean called copepod to increase numbers through formation of biofilms on copepod surface which act as protection for the bacteria.

Control

Avoid consuming raw foods such as tropical fish, unpasteurized milk and even unpeeled fruits&veggies as it may be contaminated.
