- The air that you breathe it goes through the trachea. This splits into two tubes called bronchi (each one is a bronchus) one going to each lung.
- The lungs are like a big pink sponge and are protected by the rip cage there surrounded by the pleural membrane
- The bronchi split into progressively smaller tubes called bronchioles
- It separates from the lower part of the body by the diaphragm
- The bronchioles finally end at small bags called alveoli wherethe has exchange takes place
- The thorax is the top part of your body
- the vertices contrast forcing the blood into the pulmonary artery and the aorta and out of the heart
- the blood the flows to the organa through arteries and returns through veins
- the atria contract pushing the blood into the ventricles
- the atria fill again and the whole cycle starts over
- blood flows into the two atria from the vena cava and the pulmonary vein
capillaries- these are involved in the exchange of materials at the tissue
veins- these carry the blood to the heart
arteries- these carry the blood away from the haert
- nutrience like glucose and amino acids. these are the soluble products of digestion which are absorbed from the gut and taken to the cells of the body
- carbon dioxide from the organs to the lungs
- red and white blood cells and platelets
- urea from the liver to the kidneys
- hormones
- proteins
- antibodies and antitoxins produced by the white blood cells
