Practicle
Step one : put 2 CM3 of starch
solution, 2cm3 of amalaze
solution and 2cm3 of ph5 buffer solution
-
Step three : Now combine the three
solutuins into one test tube and
mix, return to the water bath and start
the stopwatch.
After 30 secindes, use the stiring
rod to transfer one drop of
solution to a well in the spotting
tile which contains iodene
Continue this until the iodene
remains orange, when it has, there is
no more starch, meaning the reaction is complete.
Digestive enzymes
large food molecules are digested by enzymes to make them smaller, enzymes are large proteins molecules which has an active side that the substrate attaches to, it then brakes it to the products, however if it is a different size then the active size it will not work, this is the lock and key theory, proteins are long chains of proteins called amino acids.k

tempreture also effects amalze, as it can denature the enzyme and make it so the substrate no - longer fits.
