can strike down state or federal laws if court finds it “unconstitutional”
judges are appointed for life by president
each state has at least 1 district court (94 total)
court of appeals if you feel trial was unfair
supreme court only hears about 100 cases a year
the Chief Justice leads the court, there are 9 justices total (no age or citizenship requirements)

Executive branch:
enforces laws passed by congress
President & VP must be 35, born in US and resident for 14 years
4 year terms, but can do 2 terms
HOR can impeach (bring serious crimes against the Pres)
Pres can veto (cancel) laws congress passes
to override congress needs a ⅔ majority vote
to change constitution, treaties, statutes, pres issues executive orders
can also issue from punishment
also 15 executive departments that make up over 4 million ppl

435 in HOR, decided by the census on pop
if one state gains a member, another loses one
must be 25, live there for 7 years and in the state you represent
senate has two per state
must be 30, citizen for 9 years
the party with the most members is the majority
the VP acts as President of the House and votes to break ties
