Suffering: Pain or distress caused by injury, illness or loss
Inconsistent Triad: if God is all loving & all powerful, why does Evil exist

Forgiveness
Forgiveness: to grant pardon for a wrongdoing: to gve up resentment and the desire to seek revenge against a wrongdoer
The Parable of the unmerciful servant:
Servant was forgiven his debt by a King. but then didn't forgive another servant who owed him a smaller debt

'If you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly father will also forgive you'
Death penalty
For
- 'an eye for an eye'
- Genesis 9:6 says 'Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man she his blood be shed'
Against:
- All human life should be valued
- 6th Commandment: 'you shall not murder'
- 'Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you'
- Goes against the sanctity of life. Only God can give and take away life

Prison fellowship: 1500 volunteers help prison inmates in a variety of ways: including Christian teachings and Bible readings. Also give friendship: letter writing
Benefits of Prison visiting:
- Counselling prisoners
- supporting them though rehabilitation
- attending to their spiritual needs
- supporting the families of prisoners
Cause of Crime:

Social reasons: abusive & violent parents may provide poor role models and are ignorant of their behaviour
Enviromental reasons: crime rates are high in poor, overcrowded and deprived backgrounds
Psychological reasons: many people in prisons are suffering from mental illness or psychological problems
