Advantages and Disadvantages of Leadership Styles
Laissez Faire :couch_and_lamp:
Very relaxed and chilled. 'Laissez Faire' is French for 'Let it be'
Less group satisfaction and quality or production of work
Decreases worker morale.
No work for the leader
Can focus on overseeing the safety of employees.
Bossy and strict, don't want to mess with them.
Limited to a single viewpoint
Fast decision making :fast_forward:
Quick choices in a crisis
Democratic Persuasive :snake:
Pretends to care and listen, but actually doesn't care and decides on their own.
Other people have no input
May make decisions that the employees don't like.
Your employees may be wrong and you could have a better idea
People will be happy to be heard (even if they're not really)
'Father figure', someone who tells you to do something without your consent, or that you don't want to do.
They tell the worker to do something they may think is the wrong thing to do.
They know what is best for the employee, and want to take care of them.
Democratic Consultive :silhouettes:
Actually care and listens for constructive feedback and input.
It can seem to be uncertain
Democratic leaders would sometimes become indecisive in certain situations, especially during a crisis. These individuals would not function well in an authoritarian role.
May not have time for everyone's input. :alarm_clock:
May waste opportunity costs
Bad for decisions that need to be made quickly.
Fits a lot of business types
Promotes a creative environment
Employees would be happier
Which would boost worker morale
Great for team building :hammer_and_wrench:
Can build supportive teams
