Plessy v ferguson- a landmark decision of the us supreme court issued in 1896. It upheld the constitutionality of racial segregation laws for public facilities as long as the segregated facilities were equal in quantity
**Executive Order 9981-
an executive order issued on July 26, 1948, by President Harry S. Truman. It abolished racial discrimination in the United States Armed Forces and eventually led to the end of segregation in the services.
Brown vs. board education -was a landmark United States Supreme Court case in which the Court declared state laws establishing separate public schools for black and white students to be unconstitutional.

African Americans fought during the civil rights movement by doing protests. some of the protests that they made were on the streets. one of the non violent protests that African Americans made were boycotts on the buses. they also made some violent protests was the watts riot.
