World War 1
Analyze the major causes of World War I.
European secret alliances made tension high in europe
European imperialism had people with big empires capable of amassing large amounts of resources
Nationalism in europe made tensions high in countries containing multiple ethnic groups such as Austria-hungary
militarism in europe essentially created an arms race between multiple countries such as england and germany trying to surpass each other on the high seas.
The spark
Serbia wanted part of austria-hungary's land because many serbs were living there. A serbian nationalist group known as the black hand assassinated the austrian ruler archduke Franz Ferdinand which sent the european alliances into play.

I chose this picture because it shows how alliances were brought into the war.
Evaluate the importance of the Treaty of Versailles.
The treaty of Versailles is the treaty that ended world war 1
The provisions
Germany had to take 100% of the blame for ww1
Germany had to pay the ridiculously high costs of the whole war.
Germany shrank
germany couldnt have a big army any more
why was lasting peace not achieved?
the provisions just angered germans
the weakened and poor germany led to the rise of Adolf Hitler which ultimately led to the second world war.

I chose this picture because it shows that all the treaty did was anger the germans.
