CAPS curriculum
CAPS is beneficial for the teacher as it creates a foundation of what is required for subjects and lessons for each grade and subject, including focus areas and hours required. CAPS is also beneficial for the learner as it focuses on important key skills and content that the students needs to be taught by the teacher.

Classroom rules :check:
It is important for a teacher to explain what their classroom rules are. They need to be clear on how they expect their students to act and react, as they cannot discipline their students for acting in a certain way if they have not explained what their expectations around behaviour are from the beginning.

Disciplined measures
Meeting with parents - It is very important to keep an open communication with parents on the status of their child. Teachers and parents should work together as a team. If so, this can be beneficial to all three parties involved.
-
Positive disciplinary measures - by rewarding good behaviour we encourage the student and others to avoid bad habits and behaviours and instead follow a more positive one that they will be rewarded instead of punished for. This has long term positive benefits for both the educator and the students.
Good subject knowledge of the educator - as a teacher it is easier to keep the students engaged if we sound like we know and understand the content we're teaching. Students can easily pick up if we don't and they will no longer trust what we're telling them. This can have a negative affect on the teacher's lesson and the other students if the child becomes uncooperative.
Thorough preparation by the educator - sufficient prep ensures that we as the teacher will not waste time trying to figure out our next steps within a lesson and will help prevent students from losing interest. This is beneficial to the teacher and the students.
Rewards - this is linked to positive disciplinary measures where the student is rewarded for good behaviour. This can take place in many forms from a civvies day to free time during class. This has a positive affect on the student involved and the teacher.
Emphasis values - If students are continuously reminded about the schools values, they are more likely to follow them. In turn this will lead to less unruly behaviour and more productivity.
-
Refer learner to the head of department/school principal - if students know they will be sent through to a disciplinary head or principals office, they are more likely to cooperate with you as the teacher. Sending them to these individuals helps the learner understand the severity of their actions.
