In 1847, Twain's father died forcing his family into financial hardship. This is effects his writing because of the loss he was forced to experience.
In 1845, Mark Twain was walking on the sidewalk and saw a man shot dead in front of him. This experience could provoke his thoughts to form around how anyone could die anytime, which would be reflected in his writing.
In 1840 when he was four, his family moved to Hannibal, Missouri. At this time Missouri was a slave state, which was reflected in his writing.
Mark Twain was born in Florida, Missouri in 1835.
In 1851, Mark Twain became a typesetter and contributor of articles and humorous sketches for the Hannibal journal. This was the beginning of his literature career, inspiring him to work even harder than before to achieve his goal
In 1858, Mark Twain's brother Henry died. With the loss of his brother and his father, his writing began to focus on more dark thoughts.
