Daimyo: Territorial Lords ruled by The Shogun. Had a private army of Samurai. (emaze, slide: Daimyo)
Samurai: Samurai means, 'those who serve'. A Samurai was a member of a military force, who had swore allegiance to their lord. (emaze, slide: Samurai)
Ronin: A Samurai with no master or lord. This can be if their lord has died, committed seppuku or unemployed them. (emaze, slide: Ronin)
Peasants: Farmers and Fisherman, who worked all day to produce food for the country. (emaze, slide: Peasants)
Artisans: Craftsman/Craftswomen. (emaze, slide: Artisans)
Merchants: People who trade/sell goods and services. (emaze, slide: Merchants)
Food
Tempura is fried seafood and vegetables, eaten as a snack.
Sushi is vegetables, rice and/or fish is wrapped in seafood.
Ramen is wheat noodle and soy sauce, served with meat, green onion, seaweed, egg and other ingredients.
Miso soup, is a common side dish, consisting of tofu, vegetables and seaweed.
Gyudon, is a bowl of rice, topped with beef, then seasoned with different ingredients and spices.
Samurai
Samurai followed the code of Bushido, this includes loyalty, courage, honesty, politeness and benevolence.
Samurai performed Seppuku, which was a honourable suicide ceremony, when they had dishonoured their family or lord.

Feudal Japan
In the Kamakura period, between 1185 to 1333, the power of Japan was held by the Kamakura shoguns.
In the Ashikaga Period, between 1336, the power of Japan was held by the Ashikaga shoguns.
In the Heian Period, between 794 to 1185, the power of Japan was held by the emperors.
In the Warring states, between 1573 to 1603, the power of Japan was held by: Oda Nobunga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa shoguns.
In the Nara Period, between fourth century CE to 794, the power of Japan was held by the Yamato clan emperors.
In the Edo Period, between 1603 to 1868, the power of Japan was held by the Tokugawa shoguns.
