BIOLOGY
Macromolecules
-
Four of them. Carbohydrates, lipids, protein, and nucleic acid.
Carbohydrates: Monosaccharides conncected. Gives energy cells for cellular respiration. it also gives strength, shape, and support to plant cells.
Lipids: fatty acids. Responsible for storing energy in our body, gives organs protection, keeps cells warm, surrounds every cell.
Proteins: Hundreds of amino acid molecules. Helps cells communicate, speeds up chemical reactions.
Nucleic acids: Made of nucleo tides. Holds hereditary information, takes messages to other cells where instructions will make other proteins needed.
Photosynthesis
-
Photosynthesis has reactants. Its reactants are carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight.
-
-
-
Translation
Forming an amino acid chain by getting info from MRNA transcript. It is located in the ribosomes and produces proteins.
-
-
Osmosis
Diffusion of water. Osmosis helps with homeostasis if a membrane is impermeable to solutes, osmosis allows water to enter or exit
Meiosis
1 diploid parent and produces 4 diploid children. Cell divides twice. 1st makes two cells, divides once more to make four.
-
Gene
DNA that codes for a protein. the proteins made by transcription and translation determine our traits.
