Trials
Trial by cold water: water would be blessed by a priest making it holy. Then the accused would be thrown in tied p. If the accused floated they were guilty because the holy water had rejected them.
Trial by hot iron: the accused would have to pick up a burning iron and walk a few paces with it. Like trial by hot water the hand would be bandaged and left, if the wound was not healing the accused was guilty of the crime.
Trail by hot water was when the accused put their hand in boiling water and had to pick up an object. Then the hand would be bandaged and three days later would be checked on. If the hand was nit healing cleanly the accused was guilty and would be punished accordingly
Trial by dry bread: is done on accused priests and the priest would have to eat a very dry piece of bread. If they choked while eating the bread they were guilty.
Trial by ordeal was there for when the courts couldn't decide on a verdict and let God choose the answer on whether the accused was guilty or not guilty. It would always take place in a church because it was in the presence of God.
