This quote is telling us that the audience is actually made and the patients aren't.
"Madness" is not always psychological or psychiatric it can just be someone else judgement.
Nick taunts Lewis for directing a play with mental patients

This quote tells us that Nick just judges madness as psychiatric people. He 's definition of madness is just a judgement of someone's behaviour and actions

This quote tells us people can believe that they want to believe. It tells us that people that are stupid or below them can't see the clothes. Basically it says that the people just can't read them .
