SCHISTOSOMIASIS SUMMARY
ACUTE PHASE
Chills and fever , fatigue , headache , malaise
- Eosinophilia increase , granulomas around eggs contain large number of eosinophils , neutrophils and macrophages
- Eggs are carried by the hepatic portal circulation back up into the liver , and some may be carried to lungs or other tissues

CHRONIC PHASE
- Intestinal schostosomiasis -> show mild , chronic , bloody diarrhea
- Haematobia schistosomiasis -> painful urination and hematuria
- Asymptomatic in endemic areas
- Some eggs pass the liver -> lodging in the lungs , nervous system or other organs
MIGRATORY PHASE
- Time of cercaria penetration until maturity and egg production
