Ethnicity and education
-
EAL- learners- English as an additional language learners, they are more likely to speak in the restricted code than the elaborated code
-
Black families are usually single parent households, this means that there is no male role model therefore they usually lack discipline and they develop an anti school subculture and seek power and because they will not get that power through doing well at school, they get it through gangs and they get praised by their friends for creating an anti school subculture
-
INTERNAL FACTORS: Racial expectations, black boys are much more likely to get excluded which could mean that they don't do as well in their GCSE's
-
-
Ideal-white middle class, heterosexual (usually male)
-
-
INSTITUIONALISED RACISM: racial discrimination that has become established as normal behaviour within a society or organisation
Little englandism- a lot of what happens in education for example the national curriculum is British for example Shakespeare and classical music composers.
