Tuskegee Air Squadron
The Tuskegee Air Squadron was created in 1940 and lasted until 1952. It was group of all African American men who flew planes in WW2. They were the first major African American air squad. This helped integrate the military.

Scottsboro Boys
Nine African America boys on a train were falsely accused of raping two women on a train near Scottsboro Alabama. Only 4 of the boys knew each other and their ages varied from 13-19. The older boys had many trials and were even suggested for the death sentence. The younger 4 were let go without charges. There was a supreme court case for one of the older boys because he didn't get the adequate counsel to defend himself. This was a huge step as it let other states know that blacks could have the same rights and were entitled to the same rights.

Indian Citizenship Act
On June 2 , Congress passed the Indian Citizen Act that said any Native American born on U.S. territory could be given citizenship. This was a huge milestone in the Native American and the U.S. government's relationship. However this did not give them the right to vote which strained the relationship a little.

Tulsa Race Riots
May 31st and June 1st were one of Tulsa, Missouri's biggest moments in history. On May 30th a young man named Dick Rowland was arrested for the alleged assault on Sarah Page. When word got out on May 31st both black and white mobs formed and fought in the streets of what was once called the "Black Wallstreet". Then on June 1st, the two was burned down by a mob of white people. This split the two races. Neither could trust the other and it put salt on an open wound.
