- - - - On 1 February 1979 Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, returned to Iran after 14 years in political exile. Khomeini had been a prominent opponent of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, who had fled the country during the events of the Iranian Revolution.
        
        Arash viewed him as a man of God whom had been exiled by the Shah but wanted the people of Iran to live in riches for everyone because they were tired of the Shah stealing oil money and using the SAVAK for torture.

        in 1979 the Islamic Republic of Iran is proclaimed following a referendum after the army surrendered to Ayatollah. Ayatollah declared a provisional government with Mehdi Bazargan as PM and Abolhassan Banisadr as President.
        
        They imposed strict rules like the chador and banning makeup or nail polish. Books and movies from the west were banned as well.
        
        Banisadr is impeached and Mohammad Ali Rajaj takes over as a leader for two weeks until his demise.
