Matters of life and death (sources of authority)
Origins of the universe
Your Lord is God, who created the heavens and earth in six days, then established Himself on the throne
(Qur'an, Surah 7:54)
A day with your Lord is like a thousand years by your reckoning.
( Qur'an, Surah 22:47)
Are the disbelievers not aware that the heavens and the earth used to be joined together and that we ripped them apart.
( Qur'an, Surah 21:30)
Sanctity of life
All mankind is from Adam and Eve. An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non- Arab have any superiority over an Arab; also a white person has no superiority over a black person, nor does a black person have any superiority over a white person, except by piety and good action.
Origins and value of human life
Who perfected everything which He created and began the creation of man from clay. Then He made his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained.
Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will not believe?
it is He (Allah) who gives death and life (Qur'an, Surah 53:440
Then the soul is breathed into his body ( Hadith-Sahih Al Bukhari 4:55:549).
Do not kill your children for fear of poverty- We shall provide for them and for you- killing them is great sin. (Qur'an, Surah 17:31)
Life after death
How did you respond to My messengers? All arguments will seem obscure to them on that Day; they will not be able to consult one another.
Life after death is likened to this amazing process- a transformation from almost nothing to a highly developed and organized form of life.
Death and afterlife
And to every soul will be paid in full of its deeds; and Allah knoweth best all that they do.
... those who have believed and worked righteous deeds shall be made happy... those who have rejected faith and falsely denies our Signs... shall be brought forth for punishment.
And they say " There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time...
Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.
Issues in the natural world
Allah's Apostle said " There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sow seeds and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift from him"
(Sahih al- Bukhari 3:513)
