The main characters are all unique and was punished for being different
The main characters were different from others in the dystopia community and they get punished for being different because they have to be the same with others in a dystopia community. Matt is punished for separating Rosa and the doctor away, because Rosa had to take care of Matt, which is a clone. And Mr Leonard is taken to the Psychiatric Center for Research on Regressive Tendencies.

They both face lack of freedom in a dystopia community, just because they are different from each other

Both the main characters face lack of freedom toward doing the things they like since everyone had to do the same thing in a dystopia community, the character was the force to do what others are doing or either locked up in some place. Which Matt is locked up in a bad condition room and Mr. Leonard is arrested by the police
