Sterolithography
How it works
Develops part one layer at a time using a laser
Each layer is made of liquid polymer (e.g. resin)
Each layer is cured by laser
‘Support brackets’ needs to be removed
-
Clean off any excess support brackets using chemicals
-
From CAD to SLA
-
Geometry sliced into layer (in post processing software)
-
-
Part build from the bottom up
-
-
Post curing chamber (oven lol)
Removing excess support brackets
-
Other Info
Support brackets aren’t as thick and ‘solid’ as the part generated as the support brackets aren’t done layer by layer
Need to build support bracket because of the raw material used, Liquid polymer sinks thus needs support
