Ongoing power imbalance: between Don and Jane. While Don has historically had the power in the relationship (as he's [presumedly] wealthy, white, educated male in a respected position in society cf. Jane - Indigenous, female), by making this public claim against Don, Jane has uprooted the power dynamics in the relationship and in their community. May be some reluctance to accept this shift in their community, Jane may face social consequences for disrupting the 'status quo', and Don may encourage marginalisation of Jane, in order to undermine her narrative.
