Industry = people employed by firms that manufacture goods, / firms involved in building / construction.
Services = people who work providing services to the consumer. Eg. gardaí, teachers.
Agriculture = includes people involved in farming, forestry and fishing.

-Rent supplements = government pays part of ren.
Reasons for unemployment
-Competition between firms. Eg. Apple vs Nokia.
-New technology. Eg. Self scanners ; less cashiers.
-Recession = companies sell less goods, less profit, less employees.

-Buy more Irish goods -> need to produce more.
-Less overtime -> creates work for others.
-Job share; 2 people do 1 job.
-Reduce goods -> increase sales -> hire more staff.
Public sector = people employed by the state. Eg. nurses, teachers.
Private sector = people who are not employed by the state. Eg. engineers, bankers.
