Global Warming :explode:
What is global warming?
it is making the earth hotter by releasing greenhouse gases into the ozone layer and the earth gets hotter
It is when temperatures get hotter because of the greenhouse effect
Global warming is when the temperature is rising where it passes the average temperature and it gets hotter
rising sea levels
extinction of animal and plant species
food security threat of humans
melting of glaciers
more extreme weather events
changing rainfall patterns
expansion of deserts in the subtropics
Effect of Global Warming :red_flag:
Melting of ice caps
Wild Fires
Extreme storms
Destructive hurricanes
Heat waves
Droughts
Sea levels rising
In 2015, for example, scientists said that an ongoing drought in California—the state’s worst water shortage in 1,200 years—had been intensified by 15 percent to 20 percent by global warming.
The impacts of global warming are being felt across the globe. Extreme heat waves have caused tens of thousands of deaths around the world in recent years. And in an alarming sign of events to come, Antarctica has been losing about 134 billion metric tons of ice per year since 2002.
Forests, farms, and cities will face troublesome new pests, heat waves, heavy downpours, and increased flooding. All those factors will damage or destroy agriculture and fisheries.
Cause of of Global Warming :star: :warning:
Deforestation
Industry
FOSSIL FUELS
oil
GAS
coal
Greenhouse effect
Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air pollutants and greenhouse gases collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth’s surface.
Scientists agree that the earth’s rising temperatures are fueling longer and hotter heat waves, more frequent droughts, heavier rainfall, and more powerful hurricanes.
Natural calamities
mining activities
increase automobile use
decay of dead organisms
cultivation of land
How can we Help? :recycle:
Reuse
Take public transportation
RECYLE
Converse Water
Take a shorter showers
Turn off water when brushing teeth
Save energy
Turn off devices
Change SAVE LIGHT LIGHTBULBS
Turn off lights when not in the room
Plant more trees
Bring our own shopping bags
Difference between global warming and climate change? :fire: :silhouettes:
Global warming refers only to the Earth’s rising surface temperature, while climate change includes warming and the “side effects” of warming—like melting glaciers, heavier rainstorms, or more frequent drought.
Global warming is one symptom of the much larger problem of human-caused climate change.
