The Brisbane Ballers were undefeated in the season and were the clear…
The Brisbane Ballers were undefeated in the season and were the clear favourites to win the championship. Their young talented team was lead by Ethan Taylor and Zac Simmons . The whistle blew and the game had started. Within minutes the Sydney Stallions had got to a 12 point lead and the momentum had turned towards the Stallion's favour. Taylor looked very fatigued and tired.
Should you as a coach (1) call a timeout and tell your team to get focused, (2) just let you team play it out or (3) sub out Taylor so he can get a bit of a rest.
(3) You chose to Taylor out so he can play 100% in the 2nd quarter. When 1st quarter time comes the Ballers are down by 10. You decided that now is the time to put Taylor on, this ends up being a great decision and by halftime the game is tied. When the 3rd quarter is about to start you realize that Simmons has played the whole half. "He must be tired". Do you (1) give Simmons a quick break or (2) keep him on because he looks ok.
(1) You chose to give Simmons a quick rest. You walk up to Simmons in the locker room and tell him that he isn't going to start the quarter. He tells you that he isn't tired and is all ready to play. Do you (1) listen to Simmons and let him play the 3rd quarter or (2) Go with your instincts and keep Simmons off so he has a break.
(1) You choose to keep Simmons on and plan to keep him on the whole game. You realise that this was the wrong decision halfway through the last quarter. Simmons is fatigued and tired but you know that if you give him a quick break you will risk the championship trophy. The score is 90-90 with only 2 minutes to go. Do you (1) call a timeout so that you can give Simmons a quick break or (2) not waste your very last timeout.
(1) You choose to call a timeout so you can give draw up a play and give Simmons a quick break. You want the shoot a 3 pointer but you don't know who to run it for. Do you (1) Run it for Simmons who is still a little bit tired but is a 66% shooter or (2) Make Taylor, who is a 43% shooter shoot it.
(1) You chose to tell Simmons to shoot the shot. You know that he is capable of making that 3 point shot but because he is fatigued, he could easily miss the shot. There is 1 minute left and the score is still 90-90. You run the play that you have drawn up and Simmons gets and open shot. The shot rims out. The Sydney Stallions now have possession of the ball. Out of frustration, Simmons pushes a player in the opposing team which results in the Stallions being 2 points up with only 6 seconds to go. YOU HAVE LOST THE GAME.
(2) You chose to have Taylor shoot the ball. He is a 43% shooter and is very capable of making the shot. You run the play and Taylor gets a semi- contested shot. Splash! You are now up by 3 with only 20 seconds to go. YOU HAVE WON THE GAME.

(2) You chose to keep Simmons on even though you know he has been on the whole game. You know that if you give him a little break you might risk the game in the Stallions favour. The 3rd quarter comes and goes. Simmons has also played all of this quarter. The game is still extremely close at 79-80, your up. Do you now (1) Sub Simmons out for a quick break or (2) go and ask him if he is tired or not.
(1) You choose to sub Simmons out for a few minutes so he gets a break. While he's off the Stallions start a quick run and within a minute they have a 6 point lead. You quickly call a timeout and sub Simmons back in. Even with Simmons on the court, the Stallions keep extending the lead with all the momentum on their side. The fourth quarter comes and you are down by 14. Their is no chance of any comeback. YOU HAVE LOST THE GAME.
(2) You go up to Simmons and ask him if he is tired. He says he is ok and wants to keep playing the game. "good" you though. Their is now only 5 minutes of the game left and the score is 87-90, the Ballers are down. You still haven't decided if Simmons is going to play the whole game or not. Do you (1) Prioritize Simmons Health over the championship honour or (2) Prioritize the championship trophy higher than Simmons health.

(1) You chose to call a timeout and tell the team to get focused. It ends up being an amazing decision as the Ballers fight back to tie the game up half time. When the game resumes, Simmons picks up 2 quick fouls which puts him on four fouls. (six fouls and your fouled out) It is only halfway through the 3rd quarter and the game is still very close. *Should you (1) sub out Simmons so he doesn't risk the chance of another foul or (2) Keep him in the game but risk the chance of picking up a 5th foul
(2) choose to keep Simmons in and tell him not to foul. This end up being a horrible decision and Simmons is now fouled out in the 3rd quarter, The Ballers are in a lot of trouble and realise that they cant beat the Stallions without one of their two star players. By the 4th quarter are already up by 20, their is no chance for comeback. YOU HAVE LOST THE GAME.
(1) You chose to sub Simmons out so he doesn't risk another foul. This is an ok decision as Taylor keeps the ball game tied up. There is 5 minutes left of the game you sub Simmons back in. The game is still tied up and the clock is ticking. The championship game was down to last few minutes. What stratagy should you use now, (1) use a smaller lineup so you can be faster and knockdown some threes or (2) use a bigger lineup and try and score some points inside.
You chose to use a big lineup and try and get points in the paint. Your big man is an old veteran player with a lot of experience. He draws a lot of fouls . The game starts to pull away and by 10 seconds to go the Stallions have given up. YOU HAVE WON THE GAME.

(2) You chose to not call a timeout and just let the Ballers play it out. Unfortunately this ends up being a very bad decision and by halftime the Brisbane Ballers are down by 20 by halftime. When you come back to play the third quarter do you (1) tell Simmmons and Taylor to hog the ball and score or (2) keep playing your offense
(2) You decided top continue to play your offense even though you are down by 20. Unfortunately the big guy on the Stallions keeps on driving into the lane. By the 4th quarter you are down by 27 and the Stallions have all the momentum. Do you (1) Tell Taylor and Simmons to hog the ball now or (2) Give up and put your less experience players on so they can gain experience .
(1) you chose to tell Taylor and Simmons to hog the ball. The momentum suddenly turns into the favour of the Ballers. The lead is gradually getting decreased but their is not enough time for the comeback. Why didn't you tell them earlier you thought. YOU HAVE LOST THE GAME.
(2) You have given up on the game and you sub the younger, less experienced guys on the court. You know you have no chance of winning. YOU HAVE LOST THE GAME.
(1) You tell Simmons and Taylor to hog the ball so the Ballers can get back in the game. The duo start to go on fire and when the 4th quarter comes the Ballers are only down by 7. At the start of the 4th quarter when Taylor goes for a drive and get "accidentally" tripped by the opposition team. Do you as a player (1) Go and push the player that trips you or (2) just ignore it
