Levonorgestrel IUD
52 mg, 20 mcg LNG/day. effective for 7 years, 0.15 pregnancies/100 women/years
19.5 mg, 17.5 mcg LNG/day, effective for 5 years, also low failure rate
13.5 mg,14 mcg LNG/day, still low rate but still higher, effective for 3 years

More effective and better tolerated than Yuzpe regimen. Taken as a single dose, available over the counter

Copper IUD
Most effective (99%), can be inserted up to five days after sex, provides continuing contraception for years.

Yupze Regimen

Increased incidence of side effects due to high estrogen component. High rate of nausea (50%) and vomiting (20%) may limit adherence.
Two doses of ethinyl estradiol 0.1 mg with norgestrel 1.0 mg or levonorgestrel 0.5 mg. Number of pills depends on formation of COC. Administered 12 hours apart.
