If the Earth was an Apple
(What the pieces represent)
¾ of the apple is the Earth that is ocean, sea or lake.
1/8 of the apple is the Earth that is inhospitable to people, such as the mountains, deserts and polar ice caps.
1/16 of the apple is the Earth that is too cold, too wet, too rocky or too dry to grow food.
1/32 of the apple of the Earth that is covered in highways, houses and cities.
The peeled 1/32 of the apple is the amount of the Earth’s surface that is used to grow the crops and food for humans and animals.
This thin peeling is what supports the seven billion people on the planet.
