Dealing with others
Coaches
Coaches have a big role with the athlete. They help develop the athlete. They give out instruction, feedback, organize and much more. Athletes deal with coaches in different ways. Coaches can have a big affect on behaviour through things such as motivation, work levels etc. If an athlete every has an issue they can discuss things with their coach to try and resolve this.

Officials
Different sports have different types and amounts of officials. In sports officials are in charge of the rules of the game and decision making regarding this area.
Officials can make mistakes, athletes can become frustrated and it can affect their behaviour. However it is important that they remain calm otherwise they may find themselves getting into unnecessary trouble.
Athletes should be aware of the fact they need to keep composure when dealing with an official who has made a mistake particularly in team sports where for example if the athlete is sent off they are putting their team at a disadvantage.
Agents
Agents working with athletes is becoming much more prevalent nowadays particularly in team sports. There are both negatives and positives in this both of which can have an affect on the athletes behaviour.
Athletes can find great benefit in having an agent, e.g. finding clubs, sponsors etc.
Negatives to agents is that sometimes you get agents who look to take advantage of athletes. This may mean trying to force transfers to gain financially. Using young athletes to try and make money of them/. Sometimes athletes can feel trapped to one place in their athletic career just because of their agents actions. This can massively affect the behaviour of an athlete and the way to go about preventing this is ensuring they have an agent similar to them who understands the athletes aims and objectives but also that the athlete can sit down and discuss 1-1 with the agent any issues they have within their current situation
Sponsors
Sponsors can be of great benefit for the athlete, whether this be financial, providing equipment etc. When sponsored an athlete is representing that brand and its ethics and image.
Positives of sponsorship include: gaining financial benefit, potentially free transport, equipment given and much more
A potential negative of sponsorship is to feel the need to always perform well otherwise you may be anxious that they will look to end your sponsorship as you are not performing
To reduce pressure athletes can talk about pressures of sponsorship and other pressures with coaches, mentors etc. to come up with strategies to reduce this pressure.
