Ronins were the people that were once samurais but now that their Lord (the daimyos) lost their land in battle or had died they would become master-less. this meaning that they are now considered as 'Ronins'.

Samurais were the warriors of Japan.They were the fourth ranking on the Japanese feudal system after the daimyos (the nobles).

Kabuki is one of the classical theaters. All rankings were allowed to watch the show and they would last the whole day.it was basically about daily life situations but their would be men who would act in the theater. they would become women be wearing a lot of makeup and women clothes and re-act them.

Shoguns

Shoguns were the military leaders of Japan. they were the people that were in charge and were on the second ranking on the Feudal system.

Daimyo

Daimyos were noble lords of Japan. Daimyos were the land owners and were the masters of the Samurais. Their power depended on the fighting skills of their samurai under their control.

Peasants

Peasants were the people who were the slaves. Nearly 90% of the population were peasants. Their job was to do the farm work and grow crops. without food, no one could survive so Peasants were considered as very special people.

Artisans

Artisans were the people who create things like paintings,furniture,decoration etc. they were ranked second last on the feudal system. they wouldn't sell their creations but just make them.

Merchants

Merchants were the lowest people on the ranking of the feudal system. They were the people who would sell items and were tradesmen. they were considered as the lowest as they did not create the items that they were selling.

Islam had not yet made its way to Japan and no one knew about the religion of Islam.

Shinto is the worship of ancestors and nature spirits and a belief in sacred power. this was one of the two religions you were allowed to worship. The other being Buddhism

Being christian was forbidden in Japan and if you did believe in Christianity then you would have to do sepukku.

Buddhism a widespread Asian religion or philosophy, founded by Siddhartha Gautama in NE India in the 5th century BC. it was one out of the two religions you could worship. the other being Shintoism

Code of Bushido

Code of Bushido is a a set of rules/commands that are set out for the samurai warrior. It was basically a oath to the country and they had to abide by the rules for their whole life time. it consisted of:
loyalty
benevolence
politeness
justice
courageous
honesty
