Dairy and eggs - dairy foods are an excellent source of nutrients for dogs and cats. They contain high quality proteins and are a good source of readily available energy, fat, carbohydrate, calcium, phosphorus, trace elements vitamin A and B complex.
The fat content of dairy products varies from zero in skimmed milk of up to 4% in full fat and more in cream cheese. Milk can be included in the diet, up to 20ml/kg/day.
Eggs are an excellent source of protein, iron, riboflavin, folic acid and vitamins A, B12 and D. They are a good source of other nutrients except for vitamin C and carbohydrates. The white of eggs is mostly protein, whilst the yolk contains fat, protein, fat soluble and B vitamins.
