Climate Change
Melting Sea Ice
Sea Ice is melting due to the greenhouse gasses that are stuck in the ozone layer. This concerns us because overtime here will be an increase of temperature and no ice left.
Derforestation
Patches of forest are being cut down for resources. Overtime there wont be enough trees to absorb the co2 in the atmosphere. 740 million acres of forest is cut down every year.
Global Temp.
Earths temperature has increased by 1.5f since 1880. The greenhouse gases are staying in the ozone and increasing temperature.
Extreme Weather
Heat waves, Floods and Droughts are increasing due to the ozone layer keeping greenhouse gasses in.
-
Ecosystems
As sea level rises saltwater intrusion occurs in a freshwater system may force key species to relocate.
Livestock
Livestock such as Cattle, produce methane which accounts for 10% of greenhouse gasses. Methane is more harmful to the Ozone than Co2.
Landfills
Traditional waste management techniques account for as much as 5% of greenhouse gases. As the stuff we throw away breaks down it leaks Methane into the air.
Fertilizers
The increase of agricultural production has lead to more Nitrous being released into the ozone. Every Kg of NItrous is equivalent to 300kg of Co2.
-
Economy
By the end of the century the world will spend over 57 billion on energy and over time will we run out of resources.
Greenhouse Gases
Carbon Dioxide, Methane and Nitrous Oxide all have negative effects on the environment and increase with human activity.
Fossil Fuels
Coal, Oil and Natural Gas account for 80.9% of all emissions. The three biggest contributors are Electricity, Transportation and Industry.
