Banks will NEVER ask for your credit card PIN so never respond to emails asking for your bank details or username and password for an account

A type of credit card theft where a small device is used to steal credit card information when the owner is making a transaction.
Phishing
Pretending to be a bank, or some other type of financial institution. they send emails to individuals and state something like 'the persons account is locked and to unlock it they need to email back their card details and PIN'.
Identity Theft
Hackers steal data from individuals conduction e-commerce transactions. whilst also stealing card details and PIN's, they start to collect a wide range of personal and financial details about a person including their name, date of birth, address, work history, banking details and driver's licence number. Once enough information is obtained the hacker are able to apply online for a credit card or loan.

The internet has evolved allowing you to conduct commerce or business transaction online. Many organisations have set up e-commerce websites that allow the customers to complete transactions online. By communicating electronically, stores are able to accept credit card or debit payment.
