Within hours, Great Britain declared war , France: Economic interests - 1/4 of France's money was in Russia, nationalism and alliances, Russia: Considered themselves protectors of Serbia. Nicholas II saw this as an oppertunity for economic prosperity
Triple Alliance: Germany: Joined war because of their hope of becoming a world power. Lost lots of territory at the end --true loser of WWI, Austria-Hungary: Joined the war because of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and Italy:
