Scientific Revolution
Objective 2
Scientists like Francis Bacon, Galileo, Rene Descartes, and Isaac Newton made discoveries that would change the world.
When he lectured at Cambridge, his lectures were taught poorly because he showed little interest in teaching his students.
Was a premature baby, and was born on Christmas day.
"Newton ran the Royal Mint and had forgers executed" He was responsible for producing England's currency and after a long time he moved to the nation's capital city. He then was promoted to lucrative position of master of mint.
"His unhappy childhood helped shape his secretive personality" He threatened to burn his mom and dad.
-
His famous quote is "I think, therefore I am." Meaning, everything that he has believed has been disproved, and that he is a person.
Objective 5
An astronomical clock is a clock with special mechanisms and dials to display astronomical information, such as the relative positions of the sun, moon, zodiacal constellations, and sometimes major planets.

Objective 4
Italian scientist and scholar Galileo made pioneering observations that laid the foundation for modern physics and astronomy. His research into the pendulum help to develop the modern clock.
He refuted the popular Aristotelian belief that earth is fixed in the center of the universe while the stars and planets just revolve around it.

Objective 3
Copernicus was an astronomer who lived in the early 1500s. He came up with the idea that the Sun was the center of the universe. This was very different from the current belief that the Earth was the center.
Is is buried in a crypt, and is known as a "reluctant hero".
Believed that the solar system rotated in a perfect circle, and wrote a book about his beliefs, but before it could be published he died.
Went to school to study law or church law, and also got tutorials in astronomy
Was troubled by the earths system because it required heavily mechanics that explained the motions of the planets and when he tinkered with stuff he found out that when you move the sun to the center, then you have a beautiful system. He was motivated by scientific observation.
Objective 1
Near the end of the Renaissance, the Scientific Revolution began. This was a time of great strides in science and mathematics
It was revolutionary because it was saw democratic because no ruler could tell you "what reality was"
Lighting, Earthquakes, were saw as natural explanations but wasn't enough.
