Annex Family Trees
Frank Family
Mr. Frank
Mr. Frank is a French man, in his forties, and is gentle, with a hint of a German accent. He is steadfast, and seems like someone who often knows what they're doing.
Mrs. Frank
Mrs. Frank is your stereotypical overprotective mom. All she seems to want is Anne to be safe and, more importantly, ladylike. She can't help to see Anne not get everything she needs.
.
Margot Frank
The book doesn't say too much about Margot, but what we can learn is that she is a shy, quiet, and beautiful girl who will do as she is told.
Anne Frank
Anne is a young, curious little child who is energetic and playful. She stays positive and happy, even in dark times like the ones she has been forced into.
Van Daan Family
Mr. Van Daan
Mr. Van Daan is tall, slightly stocky, and apparently smokes. He is very rational and level headed, and doesn't make assumptions. The book says his clothes are "expensive and well cut." This implies that him or his family has some money.
Mrs. Van Daan
Mrs. Van Daan is in her early forties, and is slightly, and only slightly, possessive. I say this because she is "clutching her possessions, a hatbox, bags, etc." She wears a fur coat, which implies that her or her family has a lot of money.
Peter Van Daan
Peter is that one edgy kid that just sits alone and ignores most of the world. He is apparently tall, and is sixteen years old. He is "shy and awkward", and is very direct with Anne about what he feels about this whole situation.

The Store Workers
Mr. Kraler
Mr. Kraler is a kind man who helps the two families hide out. He works in the store below the annex, which is how he can get in to the area without being suspicious.
Meip Geis
Meip is a young woman of nineteen who works in the store below the annex. She, like Mr. Kraler, brings supplies up the stairs to them. She is very kind and is willing to help the families in the face of danger.
